About Hinda Mandell

Hinda Mandell is a doctoral student in mass communications, a freelance reporter and a burgeoning artist. When it comes to school, she studies Jews and scandal. When it comes to reporting, she likes to write about Jews and something scandalous. When it comes to art – as you can witness through a quick glimpse of her cartoons – Hinda prefers folk to the hoity-toity. Hinda (also known as the Maidel on this site) is a regular contributor to the Boston Globe and the Forward, and has also written for Boston Magazine, the Jerusalem Report and the Jerusalem Post. As the former editor of a weekly Jewish paper in Boston, Hinda has an unnatural interest in dirty laundry of a metaphorical nature.
